Doha, June 05 - HE Assistant Foreign Minister for Services Affairs Rashid Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brookings Doha Center Deputy Director Ibrahim Sharqieh, in the presence of HE Director of the Diplomatic Institute Hassan Ibrahim Khamees Al-Muhannadi.
The MoU includes cooperation in the fields of scientific research; strategic studies; education; training; exchange of expertise, scientists, and researchers; in addition to holding joint conferences, seminars, and workshops.
HE the Assistant Foreign Minister stressed the importance of cooperating with specialized global centers such as Brookings Doha Center, pointing to the role that the center and the similar institutions should play in reflecting the right image of Qatar including sustainable development, and its vital role in foreign policy on all levels, particularly the efforts of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in making peace, spreading the principles of democracy and human rights, and offering developmental aids to needy countries.
In turn, Sharqieh thanked the Foreign Ministry for its cooperation with Brookings Doha Center and welcomed cooperation with the Diplomatic Institute. He also noted that the center will assume its role in reflecting the bright image of Qatar in the international media, especially the American ones.
