The State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), sent on Wednesday four shipments of urgent medical assistance to the Republic of Tunisia, the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Republic of Rwanda, and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, in support of the efforts of friendly governments to confront and contain the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).

Qatar Fund For Development clarified in a statement that a total of 45 tons of medical equipment and supplies were sent to the four countries and were transported by Qatar Airways.

Director General of Qatar Fund for Development Khalifa Jassim Al Kuwari affirmed in a statement on this occasion that the medical assistance provided by the State of Qatar to the friendly countries is an embodiment of solidarity and cooperation with brothers and friends, and it also comes within the context of global efforts to combat the spread of the pandemic.

He also said that this aid comes from the duty of joint international responsibility and in support of international efforts to stop the spread of the virus.

The aid complements the urgent medical assistance provided by the State of Qatar to brotherly and friendly countries through the Qatar Fund for Development, where Qatar provided urgent support to several brotherly and friendly countries such as Iran, Lebanon and Italy, with the aim of extending a helping hand to overcome the coronavirus crisis that swept the world.
