Qatari Plane Carrying Urgent Medical Aid Arrives in Angola

In implementation of the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, an urgent medical aid plane from the State of Qatar to the friendly Republic of Angola arrived in Luanda to help it combat the outbreak of novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

A number of officials and representatives of the media were present when the plane landed in Luanda.

The aid included 792,500 units of medical supplies.

The provision of aid was coordinated by Qatar Fund for Development and the Embassy of the State of Qatar to South Africa (non-resident representation in Angola), in cooperation with the Angolan Embassy in Pretoria and the competent authorities in Luanda.

The aid is within the framework of the State of Qatar's policy that is based on strengthening global solidarity and international cooperation to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
