Qatari Ambassador to Nepal: Qatar's Progress and Development Achieved by Proper Planning

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Yousuf bin Mohamed Al Hail praised Wednesday the progress and development of the State of Qatar, which has been achieved through proper planning, utilization of available resources and cooperation with credible partners, guided by the vision and wisdom of the leadership, and the unity of the Qatari people, who are dedicated to achieving national goals for the common good.

HE the Ambassador indicated, in his interview with Nepal's Online Khabar, that preparations for Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup are continuing as planned, and that the final stage of construction of all stadiums and related infrastructure are almost completed.

He added that football is a very popular game in Qatar, the champion of the 2019 Asian Cup. He also said that hosting the World Cup is a source of pride for Qatar given it will be the first time football's most popular event was organized in the Middle-East and West Asia. He said that the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy is monitoring the progress of efforts to host the event.

His Excellency praised the success achieved by the State of Qatar in dealing with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), being one of the countries with the lowest death rates worldwide.

He noted that the Coronavirus pandemic caused economic challenges that had direct impact on migrant workers, and added that the Qatari labor law allowed workers to change their jobs, so migrant workers can now choose to find other job opportunities.

He said that the main area of cooperation between Qatar and Nepal was in the field of labor, but highlighted the success in introducing a number of Nepalese products to the Qatari market.

The Qatari ambassador to Nepal spoke about the similarities between Qatari, Arab and Nepalese culture, saying that they all treasure family values and ties, adding that he feels at home given the similarity between the Nepalese society and Qatari values.

The Ambassador highlighted the development that Nepal is witnessing with its resources that enable it to achieve prosperity and development, he was optimistic that this can be sustained, given the country's stability, will, and skilled human resources that are known for excellence.
