HE Chairman of the Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi confirmed that Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, in cooperation with Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), began the process of disbursing cash assistance to disadvantaged and needy families in the Gaza Strip this morning.

HE explained that the cash assistance will be provided to 100,000 poor and needy families in the governorates of the Gaza Strip, where every family will receive $100. HE further indicated that the distribution process is carried out through the postal bank and its branches and new points affiliated to it in the governorates of the sector, under the full supervision of the Qatari committee staff and in cooperation with the concerned authorities, headed by the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Gaza.

HE Ambassador Al Emadi stressed that the distribution process is taking place within strict health preventive measures, to ensure the highest standards of safety for the beneficiaries and workers in the distribution centers, and to ensure their commitment to health preventive measures, sterilization and physical distancing in light of the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Gaza Strip.
