The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United Mexican States delivered medical aid provided by Qatar Charity to Mexico, specifically to the state of Puebla and the municipality of Nezahualcoyotl, as a contribution to efforts to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19), and an emphasis on the importance of bilateral relations as well as highlighting the continued support of the State of Qatar to Mexico.

HE Mexico's Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs Martha Delgado, HE Secretary of Economy in the State Government of Puebla Olivia Salomon Vivaldo, HE Mayor of Nisawalcoiotel Juan de la Rosa, and several officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Government of Puebla attended the delivery of the aid.

In a speech on this occasion, HE Martha Delgado expressed her thanks and gratitude to the State of Qatar and its wise leadership on behalf of HE the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard and referred to the continued support of the State of Qatar and the mutual friendly relations between the two countries.

She said that the State of Qatar repeatedly reiterates its support as a clear example of the importance of relations between the two countries in the face of the current difficult circumstances, expressing her thanks to Qatar Charity, the embassy, and the organizations that contributed to the delivery of the aid shipment.

In a speech on this occasion, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico Mohammed bin Jassim Al Kuwari stressed the importance of this cooperation in the period of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, affirming the importance of being united in facing the COVID-19 economical and public health consequences.

In this regard, HE the Ambassador referred to the assistance provided by the State of Qatar to a large number of countries to confront the pandemic and its continuous cooperation with Mexico and its friendly people.

He expressed his pleasure to participate in supporting the efforts and sacrifices that many people make daily to combat COVID-19 in Mexico, expressing his wishes that everyone will overcome these difficult days soon.

On behalf of the people and government of the state of Puebla, HE Olivia Salomon Vivaldo thanked the State of Qatar and Qatar Charity for the support and assistance provided to the people of her state.

She emphasized that the State of Qatar's assistance to them represents a window of hope in the current difficult pandemic circumstances, and referred to the Qatari foreign policy, which is considered an ideal embodiment of the wise leadership's directives and the Qatar National Vision 2030.

HE Mayor of Nisawalcoiotel Juan de la Rosa expressed his thanks to the State of Qatar for the new aid from Qatar Charity, which will allow them to confront the pandemic, recalling the food aid previously provided by the Embassy of the State of Qatar for low-income families.
