Qatar, Sudan Discuss Ways to Deal with Effects of Floods, Landslides

HE Acting Federal Minister of Health Dr.Osama Ahmed Abdul Rahim, HE Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Labor and Social Development Mohammed Al Shabak, and HE Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Education Tamader Al Tarifi met with HE Ambassador of State of Qatar to the Republic of the Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Kubaisi.

The Sudanese of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development expressed Sudan's appreciation to the Government and people of Qatar for the government's generous efforts to deal with the effects of floods and landslides through the "Safety for Sudan" campaign.

During the meeting, the officials presented the vision of the social sector in the Republic of Sudan and its joint mechanisms to coordinate efforts and interventions to address the effects of floods and landslides, and ways to take advantage of the support received by the government in rebuilding and reconstructing the affected areas, moving from providing humanitarian assistance to adopting sustainable solutions to the problems of floods and landslides.

They indicated the need to rehabilitate schools affected by floods and landslides as one of the most important priorities of the government at the current stage, in addition to rehabilitating health facilities, improving health conditions, combating diseases and epidemics, and expressed their desire for Qatar's contribution to the implementation of projects, in accordance with government priorities.
