Qatar Participate in Meeting of Bureau International des Expositions' Executive Committee

The State of Qatar participated Wednesday via teleconference in the meeting of the executive committee of the Bureau International des Expositions.

The State of Qatar was represented in the meeting by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic and its permanent representative to the Bureau Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani, and Secretary-General of Doha Expo 2023 Mohammed Ali Khouri.

HE the ambassador said during the meeting that the spread of COVID-19 led to the postponement of a number of major events, and expressed his optimism that the international community can overcome current challenges and begin organizing those major international events again in the future. He also stressed the State of Qatar's support of individuals and families who were infected with the virus, noting that the State of Qatar will continue its efforts in alleviating the suffering of those impacted by the pandemic. His Excellency stressed that the State of Qatar has been an active member of the Bureau International des Expositions since it joined it in 1997.
