Agreement Signed to Establish UNDP Office in Doha

The State of Qatar and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have signed an agreement to establish an office for the program in the State of Qatar.

HE the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations in New York Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani signed the agreement on behalf of the State of Qatar, while UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner signed the agreement on the UNDP's behalf.

The agreement to establish the Doha-based office comes within the framework of increasing the effectiveness of government-funded development programs and strengthening cooperation programs in areas of common interest.

The office will focus on strengthening cooperation between the United Nations Development Program and the government of the State of Qatar, in order to promote sustainable development goals at the global level and other goals that the program seeks to achieve in the development field.
