Qatar Participates in Humanitarian Meeting of Senior Officials on Ukraine

The State of Qatar participated Tuesday in the humanitarian meeting of senior officials on Ukraine, which was held at the European Commission's headquarters in Brussels.
The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Malki.
During the meeting, Al Malki said in a speech that the State of Qatar calls for a ceasefire and the start of seeking a peaceful solution to the conflict, based on its keenness on the Charter of the United Nations and the well-established principles of the international law, its obligations stipulated in the Charter to settle international disputes by peaceful means, and its commitment to the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of states.
His Excellency mentioned the humanitarian losses caused by this war and its dire effects on the whole world, noting that this meeting will allow an assessment of the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and the immediate priorities and needs.
Al Malki pointed out that the State of Qatar has allocated USD 5 million in humanitarian aid to support Ukrainian refugees and displaced persons, through the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), in light of the difficult humanitarian situation faced by millions of refugees as a result of this crisis, adding that the continuation of escalation and tension requires the solidarity of the international community to develop contingency plans to respond to their necessary needs.
