Arabic Language Doha Prize Concludes in Moscow

The activities of the Arabic language "Doha Prize" competition for university students in Russia, organized by the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation, in cooperation with Qatar University, concluded in Moscow.
The competition was supervised by the Second Secretary of the Embassy Abdullah Al Saei and a jury that included a number of orientalists and professors from various universities in the Russian Federation and Qatar University.
Seven students won the prize, whose final phase was hosted by the Embassy at its headquarters in the Russian capital, Moscow. The winners received a scholarship to continue learning the Arabic language for a year at the Arabic language center of Qatar University in Doha.
The competition, which takes place in several phases, received applications by more than 400 male and female students from various universities in the Russian Federation. The first phase took place and the test results were announced. Afterward, interviews were conducted in the second phase virtually, then 31 male and female students competed in the final stage.
The Second Secretary of the Embassy Abdullah Al Saei confirmed in his closing speech that the Doha Prize competition, which the Embassy is organizing annually since 2018, has become an important milestone in the development of cultural exchange in the field of education, pointing out that it provides participating students from Russian universities with an opportunity to test their language skills and gives the winners a unique opportunity to continue their studies in the State of Qatar, in the modern center of Arab culture.
The competition reflects the State of Qatar's interest in spreading the Arabic language as a tool for civilized communication, and building bridges of communication and rapprochement between Arab, Islamic culture and other cultures.
