New York/ 04 June 2014/ Qatar's mission to the United Nations took part in a ceremony to commemorate the victims of the Syrian uprising held by a group of Syrian activists and with the participation of some non-government associations in the United States. The event featured the recitation of the names of the victims whose number go beyond 160,000. HE Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, Qatar's permanent representative to the United Nations read out some of the names, with permanent representatives of friendly countries to Syria also participating in the gesture.
