Brussels/ 12 August 2014/ Sorin Ducaru, NATO assistant secretary general for emerging security challenges, met with HE Qatar's Ambassador to Belgium Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani at NATO headquarters in Brussels. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries as well as administrative and logistical arrangements related to the NATO conference on the disarmament and prevention of weapons of mass destruction, due to be held in Doha next year. Participants in the annually-held conference include member states, states that have partnership and cooperation agreements with NATO, and international organizations such as the United Nations, the European Union and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. It is the first time the conference takes place in the Middle East, a culmination to the effective partnership between Qatar and NATO.
