Maldivian President Receives Credentials of Qatari Ambassador

Male/ Information Office/ 14 January 2015/ Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Wednesday received credentials of HE Rashid bin Shafie Al Marri as Qatar's non-resident ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Maldives as he met the ambassador at the presidential palace in the capital, Male. At the outset of the meeting, Ambassador Al-Marri conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani to the Maldivian president and their wishes of happiness for him and continued progress and development for the Maldivian people. For his part, the Maldivian president entrusted Ambassador Al-Marri to convey his greetings to HH the Emir and HH the Father Emir and his wishes of health for them and further progress and prosperity for the Qatari people. During the meeting, they reviewed the existing bilateral good relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in order to serve the interests of the peoples of the both countries. Maldivian Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon attended the ceremony along with Mohamed Hussain Shareef, minister at the president's office, and Mohamed Shahudy, chief of protocol at the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
