Nepalese Foreign Minister Meets Qatar Charge d'Affaires

Katmandu /Information Office/ 22 June 2015/ Nepalese Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey met here today with Acting Charge d'Affaires at Qatar's Embassy in the Republic of Nepal Abdullah Ibrahim Mohammed Nour Al Emadi. During the meeting they discussed relations between the two friendly countries and efforts made by the State of Qatar in the aftermath of the earthquake that hit the Republic of Nepal recently. The Nepalese Foreign Minister thanked the State of Qatar for the swift response and delivery of humanitarian and relief assistance to the effected within hours after the earthquake. He also pointed out to the preparations currently underway for hosting the international donors conference on June 25 to muster necessary support for reconstruction in the wake of the devastating earthquake. For his part, the Acting Charge d'Affaires at the Qatari Embassy confirmed Qatar's support and solidarity with the government and people of Nepal saying Qatar was the first Arab and Muslim country to arrive in Nepal upon the sublime directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani," stressing Nepal's ability to succeed in dealing with this plight and to overcome its effects.
