Qatar Calls on Libyan Parties to Sign Final Political Agreement

Doha/Information Office/ 28 June 2015/ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's full support to efforts aiming at success of the Libyan dialogue under auspices of UN with a view to announcing government of national reconciliation. In a press statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) today, HE Director of Arab Affairs Department, Ambassador Saad bin Ali Hilal Al-Mohannadi confirmed that Qatar supports a political solution to achieve a national reconciliation in Libya through dialogue, resulting in the formation of a government of national unity to end Libya's crisis. Al-Mohannadi called on all Libyan parties to sign in the upcoming days the final political agreement submitted by the United Nations as a good compromise that meets aspirations of the Libyan people and guarantees unity of Libya. While expressing Qatar's welcome towards resuming the sessions of the Libyan national dialogue, in the Moroccan city of Skhirat. He expressed Qatar's concern over increasing violence in Libya and beyond its borders, referring to the deterioration of the economic and humanitarian situation. Qatar will spare no effort in supporting the Libyan people, stressing Qatar's full solidarity with Libya and its people, he added.
