Qatar Reiterates Full Support of Palestinian People Struggle

Geneva/ Information Office/ 30 June 2015/ The State of Qatar has reiterated its firm position in support of the struggle of the Palestinian people in order to recover their legitimate rights and establish their independent sovereign State with its capital in East Jerusalem. This came in a speech delivered by HE Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al Henzab, Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, at the general debate on the human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories during the 29th session of the Human Rights Council, Item (7). HE Ambassador Al Henzab said the lack of seriousness of Israel, the occupying Power, in cooperation with the United Nations mechanisms, and its absence with along with a number of countries for discussions within the 7th item, underscores the fact that the Israeli decision to resume cooperation with the Human Rights Council was the result of deals and understandings a far cry from the faith and the Council work which seeks to promote and protect human rights. He added that Israel is still continuing serious violations of human rights of the Palestinian people, and deprive Palestinians of their full rights guaranteed by international charters and conventions ,a matter which contravenes the international law and international humanitarian law ... pointing out that administrative arrests carried out by the occupation authorities and presenting prisoners to mock courts have lacked the most basics of fair trials, describing them as disgraceful and shameful.
