Doha/ Information Office/ 12 July 2015/ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises the Qatari citizens heading for Greece on holiday to carry enough cash to cover the accommodation expenses as ATMs are out of cash due to the closure of banks there. An official source at the Consular Affairs Department in the Foreign Ministry said Sunday that Qatari nationals wishing to visit Greece should contact the hotel in advance before traveling to make sure that credit cards are accepted. The source also indicated that at present remittances from outside Greece cannot be received. The source advises to take caution not to carry large amounts of cash while touring.
