Qatar's Permanent Mission to UN Holds Seminar on Prevention of Extremism

New York/ Information Office/ 01 September 2015/ The Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to UN , in cooperation with the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Permanent Mission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Office of the President of Columbia University, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) held a seminar at premises of Columbia University ,New York. The event discussed ways to formulate concept on preventing and combating extremism as well as rehabilitation , reintegration of children and young people affected by violent extremism and to provide related recommendations to the international community. A number of representatives of the UN member states, experts in the field of preventing and combating extremism among children and young people along with representatives of United Nations agencies such as The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and representatives of non-governmental organizations working in this area attended the seminar .
