New York/ 25 September 2015/ His Excellency the Foreign Minister Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah met, on the sideline of the 70th UN General Assembly, here with Austria's Minister of European, International and Integration Affairs and Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral and economic relations, the situation in Syria and Yemen and other issues of common concern. HE the Foreign Minister also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Fiji, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, where they discussed the two countries' relations and key issues of mutual concern. HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah also held a meeting with International Crisis Group's Director of Multilateral Affairs and Head of New York Office Richard Atwood. The meeting dealt with the situation in Syria and the Middle East region in addition to regional and international crisis. His Excellency also met with the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee's Executive Director Jean-Paul Laborde, where they reviewed the efforts of the State of Qatar on the fight against terrorism and violent extremism. The meeting also touched on the Committee's work on counter-terrorism, and contribution to the capacity building of the priority countries to fight terrorism.
