Qatar Calls for Joint Arab Stance Against Israeli Violations

Cairo/ Information Office/13 October 2015/The State of Qatar called on Arab countries to take a unified Arab stance to promote the rights of the Palestinian people and put an end to the ongoing Israeli aggression and violations on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Islamic and Christian holy sites. It stressed the need for an Arab move through the Ministerial Committee on Palestine and the Arab Peace Initiative to urge the United Nations, the Security Council and the international community to carry out their responsibilities and issue a resolution to oblige Israel to implement the international legitimacy resolutions on restoring the Palestinian people's legitimate rights and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. This came Tuesday in the speech delivered by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Saif bin Muqaddam Al Buainain, before the extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council at the Permanent Delegations' level which started Tuesday at the Arab League Headquarters to discuss Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque. HE Ambassador Al Buainain pointed out that, since the beginning of these attacks, HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, has conducted contacts with fellow leaders of Arab and Islamic countries on the Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the incursions of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Ambassador Al Buainain emphasized that the Israeli practices against the Palestinian people are flagrant violations of the resolutions of international legitimacy as well as the international humanitarian law, describing them as repugnant racist practices exercised against the unarmed Palestinian people. HE Ambassador Al Buainain strongly denounced the bloody scene that took place yesterday when the Israeli occupation forces shot an Arab child and left him bleeding while settlers were gathering around him in a clear provocation to the feelings of humanity.
