Qatar Mobilizes All Means to Support Syrian Refugees and Displaced - Ambassador

Zagreb/ Information Office/ 17 October 2015/ HE Qatar's Ambassador to Croatia Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al -Thani has confirmed Qatar's commitment to support the refugees and displaced Syrians at home and abroad and mobilizes all its means to provide assistance to them, which amounted to more than 1.2 billion dollars since 2011. In a statement in this regard today, HE Ambassador Sheikha Mozah said that the humanitarian aid was to affirm the human right to a decent life, regardless of religious and ethnic beliefs, noting that the State of Qatar hosts thousands of the brethren Syrians b and provide them with full humanitarian supplies for their stay, including health care and education. For his part, Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic extended his country's the thanks and great appreciation for the State of Qatar for quick response to the request of his country's relief assistance to Syrian refugees, pointing out Qatar so far is alone bearing the burden of providing shelter and care for refugees. He added : "The State of Qatar has responded in a very short time not exceeding 72 hours to his country's request for help to provide tents and other supplies for the Transitional Winter Shelter Centre by sending a plane loaded with fifty tonnes of emergency supplies," stressing that this aid came as a result of the great relationship between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Croatia, which could be a model for relations between countries. At the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani, a plane loaded with medical and food aid left last Wednesday for Croatia within the framework of the efforts of the State of Qatar towards the involvement of the international community to stand with the Syrian refugees, so as to ease their suffering through provision of basic needs goods, food and medicines.
