Qatar Participates in Arab League's Consultative Meeting

Cairo/ Information Office/ 26 October 2015/ The consultative meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives began here Monday. HE the Ambassador of Qatar to Egypt and its Permanent Delegate to the Arab League Saif bin Muqaddam al-Buainain represented his country at the meeting. Speaking at the outset of the meeting, UAE's Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, chair the meeting, said there are several articles listed on the agenda of the meeting such as the Arab move in the United Nations as part of the Arab demands for the need to provide an international protection for the Palestinian people in the occupied Arab territories as soon as possible, benefiting from the international momentum and initiatives presented by the international community that can be invested for the benefit of the just Palestinian cause and moving from managing the Arab-Israeli conflict to the stage of ending Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories. Al Jarman stressed the importance of finding an alternative plan to support the legitimate Palestinian demands at international forums, especially in light of the intransigence of the Israeli side and refusal to comply with international treaties, notably the Fourth Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of civilian persons in time of war and armed conflicts.
