Vienna/ Information Office/ 30 October 2015/ Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah participated in the expanded meeting to discuss a political settlement to the Syrian crisis, on the level of foreign ministers of the countries concerned, which was held today in Vienna. The meeting was attended by delegations representing Russia, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, UAE, Jordan, Germany, France, Egypt, Italy, Britain, Iraq, Lebanon, China, Oman as well as the UN Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura and the High Representative of the European Union Federica Mogherini. The meeting is to discuss specific proposals to activate the political process in Syria, and also aims to trading between all regional and international parties in order to launch a political process to resolve the Syrian crisis based on Geneva 1.
