Rome /Information Office/ 13 December 2015/ HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah confirmed support of Qatar to the United Nations' path towards finding a political solution in Libya. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), on the sidelines of the International Ministerial Meeting on Libya, held today in the Italian capital Rome, Al- Attiyah stressed that the international community should support the upcoming Libyan government and develop guarantees and create a suitable atmosphere for its work. HE the Foreign Minister called on all Libyan parties to sign the draft political agreement, citing the importance of a strong and effective agreement that could overcome challenges experienced by Libya on the ground. It should not be an interim agreement that make parties return again to negotiations, Al-Attiyah said Meanwhile, he expressed his concerns about the growing phenomenon of terrorism and illegal immigration. Al-Attiyah headed Qatar's delegation participating in the International Ministerial Meeting on Libya. The meeting was attended by HE the Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE Qatar's Ambassador to Italy Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Maliki Al Juhani.
