Qatar Keen on Enhancing Human Rights and Business

Geneva/Information Office/ 11 March 2016/ The State of Qatar has confirmed its growing interest in human rights and business comes within the framework of the comprehensive reform policy of the state, which human rights promotion and protection is fundamental pillar, noting that this was emphasized in the comprehensive development of the Qatar vision 2030), as well as in the national development strategy 2011 2016 . This came in a speech the State of Qatar at the 31st session of the Human Rights Council, item (3) currently being held in Geneva, and will continue until March 24, delivered by Noor Al Sada, the second secretary at the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar in Geneva. Al Sada said that Doha will host the First Asia Regional Forum on Business and Human Right, which will be organized by Working Group on business and human rights from 19 to 20 April , 2016. The regional forum aims to raise awareness of the United Nations guiding principles on business and human rights of protection, respect and remedy, and to discuss the challenges faced by stakeholders in their implementation in the continent of Asia, she added. Al Sada explained that the State of Qatar, through its membership in the Human Rights and institutions of the United Nations and regional organizations l, will spare no effort to participate actively in supporting cooperation and mechanisms involved in business and human rights.
