Rome/Information Office/12 May 2016/ The State of Qatar is participating in the thirty third session of UN Food and Agriculture Organization Regional Conference for the Near East (NERC33) which will be concluded tomorrow in Rome, Italy. Qatar's delegation to the meeting was led by HE Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Maliki Al Juhani, Qatar's Ambassador to Italy and permanent representative to the UN agencies in Rome, and HE Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser Al-Thani, Assistant Undersecretary of Agricultural Affairs, Livestock and Fisheries at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. The NERC33 discusses priority issues for agriculture and rural development in the region. These include topics like the contribution of livestock to food security in the Near East and North Africa (NENA), the implementation of the Blue Growth Initiative in the region, among others.
