Gaza/Information Office/08 August 2016/ HE Ambassador Mohammed Ismail Al Emadi, chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, has revealed serious talks and hard work by the State of Qatar to solve the electricity crisis that Gaza residents are suffering, by providing a power generator with a capacity of 100 megawatt within seven to eight months. During his opening of the first phase of HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani's residential city and touring the reform and rehabilitation center in Khan Younis, HE the ambassador noted that the Qatari committee has already initiated contacts with international firms in order to provide the generator, expressing hope that Qatar will soon be able to help in ending the power problem in Gaza. He added that ending the first phase of the project is an important milestone as the second strategic venture that are officially handed over to Gazans after the 1,000 residential units handed to families whose houses were demolished. HE Al Emadi said that contracts for $40-million projects will be signed next week and will include projects in the field of infrastructure, roads and residential houses as part of Qatar's strategy to alleviate the suffering of the Gazan people. For their part, Gaza residents expressed their gratitude to Qatar for its support and backing for the Palestinian people, stressing that Qatar's stances towards the Palestinian issue stem from Arab authenticity that always stand by the Palestinian people in all international platforms and during conflicts and disasters.
