Cairo/information office / 21 August 2016/ Director of Inter-Civilizations Dialogue Department in the League of Arab States, Samia Bibars, on Sunday highly appreciated the 'significant' and 'prominent 'role being played by the State of Qatar on the Alliance of Civilizations at the level of formulating the Arab Strategic Plan for the Alliance of Civilizations. The State of Qatar has a significant role in the formulation of the strategy and a clear contribution in the development of relevant programs and activities, she told Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of the First Meeting of the Working Group on Monitoring The Implementation of The Unified Arab Strategy for the Alliance of Civilizations Plan. Dr. Bibars highlighted Qatar's keenness to participate in all meetings dealing with drafting the strategy, praising the efforts being exerted by HE Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al Nasr, the High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations in this regard. The State of Qatar was chosen to be within the implementation team of the Arab strategic Plan for the Alliance of Civilizations, component of the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Kuwait, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Morocco, in addition to the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
