New York/Information Office/07 September 2016/ HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani has hosted a luncheon banquet at the Mission's headquarters in New York in honor of the President-elect for the 71st Session of United Nation General Assembly Peter Thomson. The attendees reviewed the most prominent issues placed on the agenda of the 71st session, as well as the sustainable development issues and ways to implement the 2030 Sustainable Plan. They also discussed the major challenges, such as regional conflicts, terrorism, climate change and refugee crisis. The banquet was attended by a number of permanent representatives of the UN Member States and Director of the General Assembly President's Office.
