The State of Qatar welcomed the announcement by Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya's Government of National Accord, Fayez Al-Sarraj, to move ahead with a new political roadmap that aims to help Libya out of its crisis.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency, the Foreign Ministry said the roadmap is a positive step towards achieving the ambitions of the Libyan people and maintaining the safety and stability in the country.

The statement stressed the importance of holding on to national dialogue as an approach to settle political disputes, calling on all parties to exploit this opportunity and engage seriously and effectively to end the division.

The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's full support for the Libyan people to come out of this crisis.

The statement also praised the role of Al-Sarraj and members of the government in adopting this initiative.
