OPCW Director General Receives Credentials of Qatar's Permanent Representative

HE Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Ahmet Uzumcu, on Thursday received the credentials of HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani as the State of Qatar's permanent representative of to OPCW.

The director general praised the important role of the State of Qatar in supporting the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), whether through supervising training courses or offering financial support to the organization's activities.

For his part, HE the permanent representative stressed the State of Qatar's unequivocal support for CWC and its condemnation of the use of chemical weapons under any circumstances as well as its willingness to constantly cooperate and support the activities of the organization, including combating chemical terrorism.
