HH Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Wednesday held via telephone a conversation with HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The telephone conversation reviewed the strategic bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the Middle East, especially the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump of his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and its serious consequences for security and stability in the region.
HE the Turkish president also informed HH Emir that he would call for an emergency summit in Istanbul for member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in that regard.
For his part, HH the Emir welcomed the holding of the summit.
