Qatar Donates $200,000 to UN Office for Humanitarian Partnerships with the Middle East and Central Asia

The State of Qatar has donated $200,000 to the Office of the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Partnerships with the Middle East and Central Asia in Geneva.

HE Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Humanitarian Partnerships with the Middle East and Central Asia Rashid Khalikov thanked the State of Qatar for this donation, and said that Qatar has been playing an active role in responding to humanitarian situations, adding that Qatar has been for many years a strategic partner of the United Nations.

The donation will help the Office in advancing effective and cooperative humanitarian action in the region to address the suffering of those in need. He also thanked HE UN Secretary-General's Humanitarian Envoy Dr Ahmed Al Meraikhi for his support and cooperation.

HE Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland, expressed the State of Qatar's appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Office and stressed Qatar's keenness to continue joint work and cooperation with all UN bodies to promote international humanitarian action and support all that would alleviate human suffering.
