Qatari Ambassador Meets OSCE Secretary-General

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and International Organization in Vienna, Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani, has met with HE Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Thomas Greminger.

The meeting discussed the accession of the State of Qatar to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) as a cooperative partner within the Asian Group, given the importance of the Organization's mechanisms and tools for Asian countries to meet the challenges of cross-border security, the challenges of sustainable development and environmental challenges, as well as the issues of education, youth empowerment and combating terrorism and extremism.

HE the Qatari Ambassador stressed the keenness of the State of Qatar on cooperating with the OSCE and all partners in order to achieve the Organization's objectives and enhancing its security and humanitarian role, affirming Qatar's readiness to host the various events of the organization.

For his part, HE the OSCE Secretary-General praised Qatar's track record of cooperation with international organizations and its effective role in international cooperation.
