The State of Qatar strongly condemned the failed assassination attempt on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro while he was delivering a speech during a military parade in downtown Caracas.

In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar's total rejection of violence and political assassinations that will only lead to more violence and destabilization, stressing that the use of intimidation and insecurity has never been the most effective way to resolve political differences. The Statement added that the State of Qatar stresses the importance of dialogue and peaceful settlement of disputes.

The statement expressed Qatar's sincere wishes for the people of Venezuela to enjoy peace, stability, prosperity and welfare.
