The State of Qatar has strongly condemned and denounced the attack that targeted a military patrol in Helmand Province in southern Afghanistan, killing an American soldier.

In a statement Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm stance rejecting violence and terrorism, whatever their motives and reasons.

The statement expressed Qatar's condolences to the victims' families and the government and people of the United States of America.
