HE the Governor General of Canada Julie Payette received the credentials of HE Saud bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Canada.

During the meeting, HE the Ambassador conveyed greetings of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to HE the Governor General of Canada and His Highness's wishes of health and happiness to her as well as his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the government and people of Canada.

For her part, HE the Governor General of Canada entrusted HE the Ambassador to convey her greetings to HH the Amir and her wishes of more progress and prosperity to the people of Qatar.

The Governor General of Canada wished the Ambassador success in his new duties to further promote relations and cooperation between the State of Qatar and Canada.
