The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the explosion which targeted an election gathering in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan, leaving several killed and injured.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's firm position on rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of motives and reasons.

The Ministry expressed the condolences of the State of Qatar to families of the victims and the government and people of Afghanistan, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
