Qatar Chairs UN General Assembly Session on the Report of the International Criminal Court

The State of Qatar chaired a session of the United Nations General Assembly at its seventy-third session, which discussed the annual report of the International Criminal Court.

The session, chaired by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, adopted by consensus the report of the International Criminal Court.

The United Nations General Assembly elected at the beginning of June, the State of Qatar as Vice-President of the General Assembly.

This election is a recognition by the Member States of the role played by the State of Qatar in the United Nations, and the distinct position of its role at the regional and international levels.
