Diplomatic Institute Organizes Seminar on IFRC's Activities in Humanitarian Fields

The Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a seminar attended by Under Secretary General for Partnerships at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Dr Jemilah Mahmood.

Dr Jemilah praised Qatar Red Crescent Society at the opening of the seminar, which was chaired by HE Ambassador Tariq bin Ali Al Ansari, Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and attended by HE Director of the Diplomatic Institute Dr Abdulaziz Mohamed Al Horr, pointing out that it is an active and strong organization not only at the regional level, but also globally.

Dr Jemilah noted that IFRC is a large organization composed of 191 organizations, under the Geneva Convention, adding that in the event of a partnership agreement with Qatar Red Crescent Society, it could cooperate with all these organizations.

Dr Jemilah explained that the Middle East region is very important for IFRC, pointing out its continuous follow-up to Doha Forum and the important issues addressed, including the Red Crescent.
