Qatar Participates in the Conference of States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention

The State of Qatar participated in the 23rd Conference of States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention, which is held in The Hague from November 19 to 20.

The delegation was led by HE Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, with the participation of HE Chairman of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons Brigadier-General Hassan Saleh Al Nisf, and HE Director of the Department of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yousef Sultan Laram.

The Conference brings together delegations of 193 States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention. This session is characterized by the holding of the quadrennial Review Conference of the Chemical Weapons Convention, which will begin immediately after the end of the Conference of the States Parties and will continue until November 30.
