The Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized an interactive meeting with the delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The interactive meeting was attended by representatives of a number of ministries including the ministries of foreign affairs, defense and interior, and HE Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Qatar Abdul Razak Farah Ali, and members of the Somali Embassy in Doha.

The meeting reviewed the political, development, military and security support provided by the State of Qatar to Somalia in line with international resolutions and declarations.

It also discussed the challenges facing Somalia and the Horn of Africa, ways to overcome them and the efforts exerted by various Qatari entities to unite efforts to support Somalia and help it shift from relief to development, investment and self-reliance to achieve prosperity for its people.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of specialized Qatari institutions, charitable and humanitarian societies, the academic sector and the private sector.
