Qatar's Embassies, Consulates Mark Sport Day with a Range of Sporting Events

The diplomatic, consular and representative missions of the State of Qatar abroad organized various sporting events on the occasion of Qatar Sport Day, amid great participation and interest.

In Vienna, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Austria organized sport events on the occasion of the Sport Day to highlight importance of sport and its positive impact on the life of the citizen.

Acting charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Austria Abdullah bin Nasser Al Fahid, diplomats and staff of the embassy and a number of staff of the United Nations Center in Vienna participated in the events.

The program included several sport activities, including football, basketball, volleyball and other sport competitions.

In Accra, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Ghana organized a sport event, which included football matches.

The event was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Humaid, embassy staff and their families, a number of staff of the Qatar Charity and students of the Language Institute.

At the end of the ceremony, HE Al Humaid presented the trophy to the winning team.

In Beijing, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the People's Republic of China organized sporting events on the occasion of the Sport Day.

The event was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to China Sultan bin Salmeen Al Mansouri, diplomats and embassy staff, a number of Qatari students studying at the Chinese universities in Beijing and members of the Qatargas office in Beijing.

The program included several sports activities including football, table tennis and walking.

In a speech, HE the Ambassador stressed the importance of the Sport Day, which reflects the awareness of the State and its leaders about the importance of consolidating the values of sport in society to build a healthy and vibrant society.

He said that the celebration of the Sport Day qualifies the country to be in the near future a global sport hub during the World Cup 2022, especially as the State of Qatar has spared no effort to support sports at all levels in the belief that sport educates young people and generations and build a healthy and vibrant society.

In Canberra, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Australia organized events on the occasion of the Sport Day, in which the diplomatic and administrative staff of the embassy as well as a number of citizens and Arab communities participated.

Activities included football, swimming and other sports.

In Manila, the Qatar Embassy in the Republic of the Philippines organized activities for the National Sport Day, in which the diplomatic and administrative staff participated.

The activities included activities including women's football, volleyball and various sports.

In Bandar Seri Begawan, Qatar Embassy in Brunei Darussalam organized activities for the National Sport Day.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Brunei Darussalam Jassim bin Ali Al Obaidly participated in the activities along with diplomats and embassy staff.

The event included various sports including horseback riding, hiking and football.

In Ashgabat, Qatar Embassy in Turkmenistan organized activities for the National Sport Day.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Turkmenistan Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Suwaidi participated in the activities along with a number of athletes.

The events included a football match and cycling.

In Hongkong, the Consulate General of Qatar in Hongkong in the People's Republic of China organized activities for the National Sport Day.

The consulate's diplomatic staff participated in the events.

In Dushanbe, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Tajikistan organized sporting events on the occasion of the Sport Day.

The events were attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Tajikistan Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Abdullah, members of the embassy and a number of professors and students of Tajik universities.

In a speech, HE Ambassador Al Abdullah stated that Qatar's goal behind this day is to promote sport and make it a way of life.

The events included various sport competitions.

In Astana, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Kazakhstan organized sporting events on the occasion of the Sports Day. HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Kazakhstan Ahmed bin Ali Al Tamimi and members of the embassy participated in the events.

In Athens, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Greece organized sport events on the occasion of the Sport Day.

The events were attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Greece Abdulaziz Ali Al Naama, a number of officials of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, athletes and sport and cultural officials in Greece.

The events included a football match between a veteran Greek football team and a number of diplomats in Greece.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar distributed souvenirs to the participants and thanked the Greek football team for their participation in the events.

In Islamabad, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan organized sporting events on the occasion of the Sport Day.

The events were attended by HE Qatar's ambassador to Pakistan Saqr bin Mubarak Al Mansouri and members of the embassy and local figures.

The events included walking, a football match, and a number of games and group contests.

In Bangkok, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Kingdom of Thailand held sporting events on the occasion of the Sport Day.

The events were attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Thailand Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, members of the embassy, the Medical Office, and Qatargas liaison office, in addition to the Qatar Airways regional office in Bangkok and some members of the Arab embassies accredited to the Kingdom of Thailand.

HE the Ambassador delivered a speech in which he highlighted the importance of the Sport Day which comes within the framework of consolidating the values of sports culture in society and turning it into a routine for all its members. He added that this edition of Sport Day coincides with the atmosphere of joy in Qatar after the first football team won the Asian Cup 2019.

The events included warm-up training, athletics competition, football and tennis competitions.

In Seoul, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Korea organized sport events on the occasion of the Sport Day.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Korea Mohammed Abdullah Al Duhaimi, and embassy staff participated in the event.

Activities included walking, football, basketball and volleyball.

In London, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in UK organized sports activities on the occasion of the National Sport Day with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar in the United Kingdom Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, and the diplomatic and embassy staff, in addition to a large number of local school students.

The program included activities in athletics at an athletics venue in the British capital to promote the IAAF World Championships to be held in Doha in September.

In Paris, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the French Republic organized sports activities on the occasion of the National Sports Day with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani, and the diplomatic and embassy staff.

HE the Ambassador stressed the importance of Qatar's role in sport, pointing out that the country preparations are continuing to host the World Cup 2022, which will be a global event for peace.

In Dhaka, the Embassy of the State of Qatar organized sports activities on the occasion of the National Sport Day with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Bangladesh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Dhaimi, the diplomatic and embassy staff, Qatar Charity and a number of heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions in Dhaka.

In Cairo, the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to the Arab League held sports activities on the occasion of the National Sport Day in the presence of the members of the mission and the staff members of the delegation.

As part of its activities on the occasion of the National Sport Day, the State of Qatar Embassy in Mexico concluded the football cup (Qatar - Mexico 2019).
