Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Meets Ethiopian Officials

HE Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lolwah Al Khater on Thursday met separately with HE Minister of Peace in Ethiopia Muferiat Kamil and HE Trade and Industry Minister in Ethiopia Misganu Arega, during her visit to the Ethiopian Capital, Addis Ababa, at the invitation of HE Director General of Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority Getachew Dinku.

The meetings tackled bilateral ties between the two friendly nations, in addition to topics of mutual interest.

HE Al Khater asserted the state of Qatar's support of the positive reforms Ethiopia is witnessing, as well as interest in promoting bilateral relations.

For her part, HE Minister of Peace in Ethiopia Muferiat Kamil expressed the interest of Ethiopia to work with Qatar in the areas of education, culture, media, and economic development.

In the meantime, HE Trade and Industry Minister in Ethiopia Misganu Arega assured that the prospect of increasing the investments and trade ties between the two friendly states is promising.

HE Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs met also with HE Dr. Dinku to discuss the ongoing media development collaboration between the State of Qatar and The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, in addition to ways to enhance this collaboration, to advance professionalism and ethics in the media industry of the region.

On this note, HE Al Khater visited the headquarters of the Ethiopian Broadcasting Company (EBC), Ethiopia's leading media network, where she met with CEO of EBC Dr. Nigussie Mitiku and witnessed firsthand the revamp the network had undergone with the support of the state of Qatar.

Her Excellency the Spokesperson met during the visit with her Ethiopian counterpart, HE Nebiat Getachew, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ethiopia.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on regional and international issues, and discussed further collaboration between the two friendly nations.
