Qatar's Embassies, Consulates Abroad Continue National Sport Day Activities

The diplomatic, consular and representative missions of the State of Qatar abroad continued their sporting activities marking the National Sport Day, which falls on the second Tuesday of February every year.

In Ankara, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Turkey organized a sporting event on the occasion of National Sport Day, with the participation of HE the Ambassador Salem Mubarak Al Shafi, members of the embassy, the military attache and a large number of Turkish students and citizens.

The event included organizing a friendly football match with a team composed of the heads of sporting federations and heads of football clubs in the Turkish Super Lig.

In London, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United Kingdom organized sports events on the occasion of National Sport Day, with the participation of HE the Ambassador Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, members of the embassy and local employees.

The event included competitions in football, tennis, table tennis, climbing activities and other exercises.

In Moscow, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation organized sporting events on the occasion of National Sport Day, with the participation of delegated Ambassador Waleed Mohammed Al Emadi, diplomats and members of the embassy and local officials.

The activities included a number of sports activities, including Swedish exercises, yoga, fencing and light gymnastics.

In New York, the permanent delegation of the State of Qatar to New York organized an event on the occasion of National Sport Day, with the participation of HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani.

HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations stressed in a speech on this occasion that National Sport Day is an opportunity to bring communities together through sport, based on the principles of team building, inclusion, unity, participation, fitness and health.

Her Excellency expressed her pride that the State of Qatar is one of the few countries to devote a day to sports, expressing her belief that such initiatives are of critical importance to raising awareness of the role of sport in improving people's health, well-being and creating a healthy community.

In Amman, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan organized sporting events on the occasion of National Sport Dat, with the participation of HE the Ambassador Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, military attache Brig. Gen. Mubarak Ahmad Al Nasr, members of the diplomatic mission, a number of officials, ambassadors, embassy staff and Qatari residents residing in Jordan, as well as a number of children from the King Hussein Cancer Center and the East Atlas For Autism Center.

The event included various sports, such as football, basketball, table tennis, and free walking. 

In Khartoum, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Sudan organized sporting events to mark Qatar Sports Day. Participating in the event where HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Kubaisi, diplomats and embassy staff, the assistant of the military attache and the employees of the Qatari military attache, in addition to representatives of Qatari institutions operating in Sudan. The ambassador said that the Sports Day reflects the importance of staying active, noting that the idea behind the holiday is to promote the importance of exercise and carrying out sports.

In Tokyo, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Japan organized sporting events on the occasion of the country's Sports Day, with the participation of members of the diplomatic mission and all members of the embassy. The program involved various activities centered around hiking.

In Mexico City, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United Mexican States organized sporting events, with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico Mohammed bin Jassim Al Kuwari HE Minister of Tourism of Mexico City Carlos Mackinlay, as well as representatives from various Mexican sports authorities, and embassy staff. The events included the organization of the second edition of the Qatar-Mexico Football Cup, which aims to bring together the Qatari-Mexican cultures through football.

In Accra, the embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Ghana organized sporting events to mark the sports day, with the participation of HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Ghana Hussain bin Ahmed Al Hamid, and members of the embassy. The embassy organized tennis matches.

In San Jose, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Costa Rica celebrated sports day by organizing football matches.

In Kigali, the embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Rwanda organized sporting events on the occasion of the country's sports day, with the participation of members of the embassy. The embassy held a wide range of sporting activities to mark the event.

In Asuncion, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Paraguay organized sporting events on the occasion of the country's sports day, with the participation of Acting Charge d'Affaires of the State of Qatar to Paraguay Saeed bin Hamad Al Marri and the embassy staff. The Charge d'affaires said that organizing a sports day aims to promote the importance of doing sports and ultimately helps realize Qatar National Vision 2030. The embassy held sports matches in football, tennis, and volleyball.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Moldova celebrated Sports Day, with the participation of Acting Charge d'Affaires Hamad bin Rashid Al Athba and embassy staff. Representatives from Free International University of Moldova also attended. Activities included football, volleyball and table tennis matches.

In Barcelona, the General Consulate of the State of Qatar in Barcelona organized sporting events on the occasion of the country's Sports Day, with the participation of HE the Consul General of the State of Qatar in Barcelona Eisa bin Jaber Al Kuwari, diplomats, and employees of the consulate and their families.

In Munich, the General Consulate of the State of Qatar in Munich organized a sporting event on the occasion of the country's sports day, with the participation of diplomats and workers at the consulate. The consulate held a wide range of sporting activities.

In Los Angeles, the General Consulate of the State of Qatar in Los Angeles organized sporting events on the occasion of the country's sports day. HE the Consul General of the State of Qatar in Los Angeles Khaled bin Youssef Al Sada, and diplomats all participated in the event. The consulate organized a football match.
