The State of Qatar and the United Nations signed an agreement on hosting the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) in Doha from Jan. 23 to 27, 2022. The signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of the State of Qatar's mission to the UN in New York.

The State of Qatar welcomed the appointment of members of the International Commission of Inquiry to Investigate Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities and avoid double standards, to end the Israeli occupation, lift the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip, stop building settlements on the occupied lands, release prisoners and detainees, and stop attempts to Judaize the city of Jerusalem.
