Led by Qatar's Representative, Intergovernmental Negotiations on UN Future Concluded
The intergovernmental negotiations on the declaration of the heads of state and government, on the occasion of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the United Nations (UN), were concluded at the UN Headquarters in New York after arduous negotiations that lasted for nearly four months, starting with the first consultation session in February, held with the participation of all UN member states, and resulted in drafting the declaration to be adopted on September 21, 2020 at the high-level meeting of the General Assembly at the level of heads of state and government of member states.
Cypriot President Meets Qatar's Ambassador
HE President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades met with HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cyprus Sultan bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud on the occasion of the end of his tenure.
The State of Qatar stressed Wednesday the important role digital technology is playing in facilitating human progress, and the big contribution it is making in enhancing and protecting human rights and basic freedoms, but noted that the same technologies could be used in ways that threaten cyber security with methods such as fake news and manipulating social media platforms.
