HE President of the Republic of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega Saavedra has received credentials of HE Dr. Khamees bin Rashid Al Kaabi as non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Nicaragua.

The Arab League Council met today at the level of Permanent Delegates headed by the Sultanate of Oman succeeding Iraq, with the participation of the State of Qatar. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, in preparation for the work of the 153rd Ordinary Session of the Council at the level of foreign ministers scheduled to be held on Wednesday.

HE State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurjan Bardinova met with HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kyrgyz Republic Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Sulaiti.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met Sunday with HE Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Dr. Delcy Rodriguez Gomez, who is currently visiting the country.

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent a written message to HE President of the Republic of Mali Ibrahim Boubaker Keita, pertaining to the bilateral relations and means of supporting and developing them.

HE Assistant Foreign Minister and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater underscored that the reasons that enabled the State of Qatar and the rest of the parties to overcome the obstacles that hindered the achievement of the peace process between the United States and the Taliban movement are due to Qatar standing at the same distance from everyone, which led to progress in negotiations after it was stopped, despite the presence of attempts from several countries that were not successful.

The agreement for bringing peace to Afghanistan was signed Saturday under the auspices of the State of Qatar, in the attendance of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, HE U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Head of the Political Office of Afghan Taliban Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, and a number of Taliban leaders.

The State of Qatar welcomes the “Bringing Peace to Afghanistan” agreement between the United States and Taliban, and considers it an important step towards a comprehensive and sustainable peace process in Afghanistan.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met here Saturday with HE US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, on the sideline of the signing ceremony of the Afghanistan Peace agreement.
