His Excellency: Our visit came under the framework of looking for bilateral points between our countries, and reaffirming the supportive position of the State of Qatar to the sisterly Republic of Tunisia in its efforts to face all challenges-whether they are economic, social, security, violence, or terrorist concerns, especially during the escalation of recent events. Therefore, we came to provide support and contribution in building potential for the efforts of the brothers in Tunisia in their campaign to combat terrorism.
We also looked at cooperation in the fields of economy and development which concerns youth, and reducing the rate of unemployment. Qatari projects also took part of our discussions relating to the latest developments. Of course, we also commend the wisdom and culture of the Tunisian people, and how they are transitioning peacefully from the stage of revolution to the stage of political stability. We hope that all efforts will be combined to support stability in Tunisia because it is very important for all Arab countries. We also discussed regional issues. Undoubtedly, the Palestinian issue was at the forefront, it remains the center of our interest regarding Arab issues. Furthermore, we exchanged points of view regarding what is happening in Libya, and we agreed that all parties must be included in the political process, and that there must be a national consensus as soon as possible to exit the chaos. In addition, we discussed the Syrian crisis and the crimes committed by the Syrian regime. We stressed that a political solution must be found in accordance with international decisions and Geneva decisions.
Of course, in the end, we wish the Tunisian people all the best, progress, and stability, and the State of Qatar reaffirms and renews its support for the brotherly Tunisian people. We look forward to His Excellency's visit to explore more fields of cooperation between our two countries, and that there will be concrete projects for the State of Qatar in Tunisia, or for the brothers in Tunisia in the State of Qatar.
Thank you.
